• While employed at the Drug and Alcohol Office, Gemma wrote a successful funding submission for the Youth Drug Driving Education Project.
• Gemma wrote a successful grant submission for the Young People's Team of the Greenwich Primary Care Trust to conduct an innovative and health-focussed youth event titled Zoned Out. 
• The following year, Gemma secured funding for the Young People's Team to conduct a follow-up youth event called the Zoned Out Team Challenge.
• Following the two Zoned Out events, Gemma authored a submission for the Greenwich Primary Care Trust's annual award ceremony. The Young People's Team won the coveted 2006 Team of the Year award.
• While working for the University of Western Australia's Health Promotion Unit, Gemma authored a submission on the Tertiary Alcohol Project.
